If to succeed at work was to be the intention to meditate, that would have defeated the purpose of this teaching! What a paradox.

It is a yes and a no. If you meditate, your mind gets clearer and you perform better in doing lots of things. Hence in certain way it helps in your career.

Of coz, in Buddhist sense, what is your "intention" that is most important. Is your intention - I want to success in career or I want to develop a clearer and calm mind.

Hey beach boy, thanks for your comment. I was about to say.. maybe by practising meditation, as a way of life, and not totally succumb to the fast-pace challenging corporate life.. where we find excuses of not able to practise the Dhamma, or find the time to meditate?

Sorry, not sure are you making a statement or asking a question.

Anyway, I've yet to meet any strong practitioner of meditation or devoted Buddhist who are successful in their corporate life. Which again back to basic question... what is success? Is corporate life "really" fast pace or we are just not effective at time management?
